Bullying tendency generally affects the entire school community by rendering detrimental impacts on students' wellbeing, health and learning. When a student bullies another student say verbally or physically, they trigger emotions of loneliness, unhappiness, discomfort and constant worry affecting how the victims perceive themselves. Bullied learners often experience low self-esteem, depression, loneliness, and attempted or threatened self-harm.

Thus, to mitigate bullying in school, school boards should establish strict (zero tolerance) policies against bullying to deter the behavior in perpetrators, promote anti-bullying awareness program, build as positive school and classroom climate that fosters healthy relationships between learners, besides developing social and emotional learning initiatives.
