3.1 There are several aspects of child development that are captured in the life skills curriculum. These are meant to help the children to understand the things around them deeply. The main aim is to assist children cope with the changes that they experience in their daily lives through helping them to understand the changes. Some of the aspects include;

• Focus and self-control
• Communication skills
• Decision-making skills and
• Critical thinking

3.2. The four elements of life skills include self-awareness, critical thinking, creative thinking and empathy. Among the four elements, music, drama and dance are found in the creative thinking which incorporates arts in its operations. Arts is associated with dance, music and drama.
