Some of the roles of special school as a resource center are; to provide upgraded educational services to directed learner populations and provide specialized professional support in curriculum, assessment, and instruction to designated full-service and other neighborhood schools.

Through these roles, special schools have been able to improve on their performance and the vocational training taught in these schools has been of great importance to the community because it has provided jobs to the jobless in the society reducing the problem of unemployment.
