The term ‘ecocultural’ originates from two concepts, including ‘ecology’ and ‘cultural.’ These concepts create settings for development. Sociologists first recognize the universal needs of children, including good care, warmth, connection, belonging, and attachment to the world around them. They also identify their opportunities to grow and play, as well as guidance and support for learning and self-actualization. At the same time, the concepts are helpful in teaching their importance in society. Children development is studied by exploring, experimenting, and learning basic knowledge and skills through direct contact with the environment.
