Why did both Canadians and Americans fall in love with fast food like McDonalds in the 1960’s? Why do we still flock to this food chain even today?
In the 1950s and 60s, fast food chains – epitomized by McDonald's. They also sensed that teens and families alike were interested in eating quickly. Pizza Hut is now part of the aptly named Yum.
While we all relate to the McDonald's brand, what most people don't realize is that what made the brand so successful was the “system” which allowed McDonald's to become more efficient, more productive, and more profitable, and, therefore, allowed it to lower its costs, which made it more competitive. This has made these first food to be common till today.
