Explain functions of language
Language is a conventional system of written symbols, a manual or spoken word which human beings utilize in cultural participation, and social group members in expressing themselves. There are various functions of language. The most common function of language is aiding in communication. With this, information is transmitted between different individuals. Other functions of language enabling the expression of local or national identity. Meaning, a certain individual identifies with a particular language. Additionally, when used in phenomena such as crossword puzzles, riddles, and puns it serves the playful “ludic” function of language.
