As the fluid starts flowing there acts viscous force and when it comes in contact with any surface then friction force acts between fluid layer and surface and in that condition the velocity of fluid become zero and as the height of fluid increases there the viscous force decreases and thus speed of fluid starts increasing in that case it changes to Laminar flow to transient flow and after that turbulent flow and for and for each fluid flow there exist a boundary layer which we can used to find the drag and other important parameters.
