Hi, I was wondering about one simple chemistry question. The free gibbs energy formula of the following reaction : CaCO3 + SiO2 --> CaSiO3 + CO2 can be calculated using the formula deltaG = 88670 - 165.65*T and to make the reaction spontaneous delta G must be < 0 Thus it can be calculated that the minimum temperature required are 535K. In the literature i read, however, most researcher are using temperature more than 1000K to produce CaSiO3. I just wonder why do they use such high temperature if CaSiO3 can be easily produced at temperature 535K. Is there any other aspects to consider for the corresponding reaction to occur in real life? thanks in advance.
