Answer to Question #281006 in Inorganic Chemistry for lolo

Question #281006

1.   The molecules of gases are governed by four variables such as pressure, temperature, volume and

molar amount which have specific relationships known as the gas laws.

(a)  Chlorine is widely used to treat swimming pool water. The volume of a sample Chlorine gas (CI2) is

6.80 L at 1200 torr and 41 °C.

i.  Calculate how many grams of CI2 are in the sample.

ii.  What is the volume of gas of CI2 at Standard Temperature Pressure (STP) ?

iii.   Calculate at what temperature will the volume be 15.00 L if the pressure is 900 torr.

iv.  Calculate at what pressure will the volume be 7.5 L if the temperature is 88 •C.
