Calculate the percent concentration of each of the following solutions:
a. 2.50 N sodium hydroxide solution (density = 1.25 g/)
b. 4.80 N potassium hydroxide solution (density= 1.30 g/ m/)
we use the following formula to find the percentage concentration:
C%= (CN * E)/(p * 10) here,
C% – percentage concentration;
CN – normal concentration;
E – equivalent mass of chemical substance;
p – density of the solution.
a) C% = 2.5 * 40 / 1.25 * 10 = 8 %
ANSWER: 8% NaOH
b) C% = 4.8 * 56 / 1.3 * 10 = 20.677 %
ANSWER: 20.677% KaOH
ANSWER: a) 8 %
b) 20.667 %
