Describe the role of each of the following in the process of protein synthesis
v) Amino acids
Amino acids are structural units of all proteins. During protein synthesis, amino acids are attached to the appropriate tRNA molecule and are recruited to ribosomes. tRNA-amino acid complexes are bind to the codon in mRNA via corresponding anticodon sequence in tRNA. This process leads to the transportation of amino acids to the ribosomal catalytic center and results in the formation of a peptide bond between the adjacent amino acid and peptide.
