a) social networking- it is a platform that allows people to share ideas informally, share similar interests such as travels, find people and connect. Examples of these platforms include Facebook, Whatsapp, Twitter, We Chat among others.

b) Microblogging - It is a platform where people share short updates on social networking site. It allow people to subscribers to other peoples content, send direct messages (DM's) and share or respond publicly. Examples include Tumblr and Twitter.

c) Blogging - It involves use of publishing websites where people record articles, opinions, and links on personal websites. Examples include blogger and wordpress.

d) Photo sharing - it is publish user's digital photos, enabling the user to share photos with others either publicly or privately. Examples include Instagram, Flickr, Snapchat and Pinterest.
