apply to the COVID-19 context and critically discuss how it affects the vulnerable groups; apply SI and suggest possible interventions that may reduce the negative impact of unemployment
Covid-19 pandemic has had a great effect to all individuals across more so the vulnerable groups. For example in the case of children from poor backgrounds, they were greatly affected by the pandemic as most schools were closed due to lockdowns and most parents relied on school meals to provide adequate, nutritious food for their children. Those who could not afford laptops were also unable to take part in online lessons that were used to replace many classes and this affected these learners academically.
Covid-19 led to worsening of food security for the vulnerable groups as most of the worked as causals and when the pandemic came they ended up losing their jobs making it hard to cater for their families in terms of providing daily bread.
The following are possible interventions that can be done to reduce the negative impact of unemployment;
One, we can reduce the negative impact of unemployment by encouraging the unemployed to try their lack on self-employment for example starting a business in their localities.
Two, unemployment can be reduced by encouraging people to accelerate investments in agriculture because through this way they will never lack something to do to earn a living.
Lastly, we can reduce the negative impact of unemployment through encouraging equality in terms professional selection by not being guided by aspects such as racism, nepotism and tribalism.
