How a Mathematician can extend his/her expertise to help general public/society, if he/she is given a task to perform the role of a social worker.
Social work is composed of different disciplines where graps pieces of knowledge of mathematics are essential. For instance, a health social worker would be required to give out the right amount of medication for patients, create care or treatment plan and organize numerical costs of services and the available resources. Some social workers who work in macros social work fields might be responsible for indirect service by handling and budgeting public funds, which requires knowledge of numbers and quantitative analysis skills. Moreover, social workers who focus on research would likely apply statistical analysis techniques to display statistical data in charts, graphs, tables, and scatter plots to show their research findings.
