I am recruiting participants via email. I'm sending them a questionnaire asking them if they have any experience with mindfulness. If they answer no then the email will ask them to sign the consent form. They will then fill out the MAAS questionnaire and the Perceived Stress Scale in order to get an assessment before they do the breathing exercise and after. Then, they will be given instructions on how to do a brief 3-minute mindfulness breathing technique. Then they will be asked to practice the technique for 2 weeks in order to see if the mindful breathing technique reduces their stress. After the end of the 2 weeks they will fill out the Mindful Attention Awareness scale again and the perceived stress scale. Then the researcher (me) will analyze the results in SPSS. I will also see if males responded more to the technique or females.
I will be using SPSS to analyze the data.
