Defence mechanisms
People utilize defense mechanisms to keep themselves from being affected by unpleasant events, acts, or ideas. These psychological techniques may assist people in separating themselves from threats or negative emotions like guilt or shame. One of the most popular defense techniques, for instance, is denial. When you refuse to acknowledge reality or facts, you get into this situation. External events or circumstances are blocked from your thoughts so you don't have to deal with the emotional consequence. To put it another way, you want to avoid unpleasant feelings or situations. This is another well-known defense mechanism. "They're in denial," as the phrase is usually interpreted, refers to a person denying reality despite what others may see.
