How does neural development impact adolescent impulsivity based on the dual process model?
As adolescents develop they experience a change in both physical and psychological capability. In the process of development, the adolescent is in a transition process between childhood to adulthood. In this period they undergo a maturation process. In adolescence, many young people experience the desire to experiment with certain actions like unprotected sex, drug abuse and they also develop the desire to be independent.
The urge that drives the adolescent into experimentation also leads them into tasting drugs and later they get entangled in it. The inability to make the right decision during adolescence often lead most young people into impulsivity.
