David (1981) found that, compared to wanted, planned babies, unwanted babies:
Pregnancies that are unintended, unexpected, or unwanted at the moment of conception are known as unintended pregnancies. The most common cause of unwanted pregnancy is sexual activity without the use of effective contraception, whether by choice or force. Contraceptive failure, non-use of contraceptive services, and, less commonly, rape can all lead to unintended pregnancy. Abortion is a common result of unwanted pregnancy in the poor world, and it can have major long-term health consequences such as infertility and maternal mortality.
