Describe the different approaches towards treating psychopathology which became available during the twentieth century
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): this type of therapy emerged in the 1960s and became more popular throughout the century; it is based on the relationship between cognition and behavior; therapists use CBT to help patients change their thoughts, causing negative behaviors. It was often used to treat patients with stress, depression, anxiety, and other mental disorders.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT): it was developed around the late 1980s and was widely used throughout the 20th century; this therapy is a different form of CBT that helps patients develop skills of self-regulation to handle stress, emotions and be able to improve good relations, I have widely been used to treat patients with a borderline personality disorder.
Psychotropic Medications: The 20th century saw a huge development of medications to address mental illness. Different drugs such as antidresspantds, anti-anxiety agents, antipsychotics, etc., were widly used to address various mental illnesses disorders.
