What conditions have to be met before a person can be diagnosed with post-traumatic-stress disorder?
In order to be diagnosed with post-traumatic-stress disorder (PTSD) according to the DSM-5, the following conditions should be met: Exposure to the traumatic event, one or more intrusion symptoms, one or more symptoms of avoidance and two or more symptoms of negative changes in feelings and mood where by people with PTSD may experience a universal negative emotional state for example, shame, anger, or fear.
