The study of dysfunctional and mental problems, their causes, and their nature is known as psychopathology. It is also the study of maladaptive behavior. The first option available during the twentieth century was behavior therapy, which is primarily concerned with studying maladaptive behavior. The main goal is to educate clients on new behaviors and to solve difficulties. It is primarily concerned that psychology is more interested in observable behavior than in unobservable events experienced inside. It has been widely used to treat infidelity in couples, chronic pain, and substance dependence.
There is the humanistic method, which supports people in determining their sense and sensation of life's meaning. It focuses on the human capacity of viewing yourself as a whole being, as well as free will and creativity. It consists of two therapies: gestalt and client-centered therapy. The method is in charge of treating relationship issues, addictions, anxiety, and depression. It effectively helps the client build a more robust and healthy sense of self-admiration and the necessary feelings for attaining a sense of life. The goal is to instill in the client a sense of self-actualization.
