We know that mismanagement of emotions can affect your blood pressure, memory and self-esteem. It also leads to an increased risk of diabetes and heart disease. And avoiding emotions can also “lead to problems with memory, aggression, anxiety and depression”. Emotional mismanagement leads to decreased immune system function and if your immune system doesn't work properly, you might get sick more frequently and recover slowly. Mismanagement of emotions can also factor into mental health conditions, such as stress, anxiety, and depression. Mismanagement of emotions also causes the troubles of social withdrawal from others, increased rates of absence from work, lack of enthusiasm in work and personal life and poor work performance.
