When I faced someone with a mental illness, my main issue was acting or reacting in a socially appropriate manner, such as not becoming frustrated, inpatient, or furious. Dealing with him was also a challenge in terms of overcoming fear and anxiety, as well as not shutting down and going into protective fight-mode. I struggled to connect with someone with whom I shared nothing in common, and I didn't always understand the benefit in it. Emotions, thoughts, and behaviors were all influenced by the mental disease. The person had a sorrowful expression on his face, was unable to concentrate, and was filled with excessive anxieties and worries. He also appeared to be suffering from bodily ailments such as stomach pain, back pain, headaches, and other unexplained aches and pains.
