Asynchronous communication happens when information can be exchanged independent of time. It doesn't require the recipient's immediate attention, allowing them to respond to the message at their convenience.

Four types of group-based textual communication: descriptive, narrative, expository, and argumentative.

Narrative communication is a way of communicating through writing stories (are used to recount a story or in other cases to express an opinion).

Descriptive communication focuses on the problem as separate from the other persons. A descriptive text usually focuses on describing a single location, object, event, person, or place.

Example: any description of event, situation, etc.

Expository textual communication is writing that has a purpose of explaining, informing, or describing. Expository writing is about providing information to the reader about a particular topic or subject.

Expository writing focus on objective information such as facts and data.

Example: any informational message.

The argumentative textual communication is writing that requires the person to investigate a topic; collect, generate, and evaluate evidence; and establish a position on the topic in a concise manner.

Examples: scientific works, students essays.
