What is the main difference between a floppy disk and a compact disc taking into consideration
method of storage?
The storage capacity of a CD is higher than a floppy disk. The capacity of a floppy disk is 1.44 MB whereas the capacity of a CD is 700 MB. So, we can say that a CD hold more than 486 floppies. Both storage devices are used as an external storage device of a computer. A floppy is a read-only memory, we can not write anything into the storage part of a floppy whereas a CD is an RW (Read-Write) memory. We can read data and write data after erasing previous data into the storage part of a CD.
