IPV4 has an address length of 32 bits while IPV6 has 128 bits.
Security feature in IPV4 is dependent on application whereas the IPV6 has an inbuilt system in its protocol.
IPV4 is represented in decimal while IPV6 is represented in hexadecimal
The checksum field in IPV4 is present while IPV6 has no checksum field.
Encryption and authentication are not provided for IPV4 but are present in IPV6.

Dual stacking or tunneling. This is a scenario where a network hardware is made to use both IPV4 and IPV6 addresses simultaneously. Alternatively, IPV6 packets can be encapsulated in IPV4 packets.
