Carrier Sense Multiple Access Algorithm: It is abbreviated as CSMA. This algorithm is used for the avoiding the collisions when two or more stations start sending their signals over the data link layer. When we are using this, then it first check the state of medium before sending.

CSMA/CD :

It is also called carier sense multiple access collision detection. In this, station monitors the medium after it sends a frame to see if the transmission is successful. In case it is not sucessful then the the frame will be resend again but if it is successful then it will end.

CSMA/CA:

It is also known as the carrier sense multiple access collision avoidance. The station will receive while transmission is detected while collision occurs. If collision occurs then the energy of the received signals almost doubles if the station can sense the possibilities of the collisions.
