Reasons for changing from bus to point to point interconnection

• Electrical constraints: Electrical constraints is the main reason for shifting from bus to P2P interconnection. When the frequency of wide synchronous buses is increased, more electricity is consumed compared to P2P. Hence P2P is more economical hence offers better scalability compared to bus.
• Secondly, P2P interconnection offers lower latency and a higher rate of data transmission. This makes P2P a better alternative to bus which has latency issues when increasing the data rate.
