- Observation is the Only Appropriate Tool for Certain Cases
Disadvantages
- lack of reliability
- Some of the Occurrences may not be Open to Observation
- Faulty Perception- some things are not exactly how they appear
- Not all Occurrences Open to Observation can be Observed when Observer is at Hand
- It is expensive
- It takes a lot of time to investigate
- Difficulty in checking the validity
- It is an inadequate method
INTERVIEW
Definition
It is defined as a conversation for gathering information.
Advantages
- It is a flexible method
- Information is more correct as compared to other methods
- It yields a higher percentage of return as compared to questionnaires
- It is easy to evaluate the verbal and non-verbal queues
- It is a more appropriate technique for revealing information about complex, emotionally laden subjects
- it is comparatively easy to avoid misinterpretations or misleading questions.
Disadvantages
- It demands a lot of effort and time
- It is expensive
- Data recorded may be incompetent and inaccurate if the interview is not well qualified
- The human equation may distort the returns
SURVEY
Definition
Is the collection of data from a predefined group of respondents to gain information and insights into various topics of interest.
Advantages
- Low cost
- Little or No Observer Subjectivity
- High representative
- Precise results
- Convenient data gathering
- Good statistical significance
Disadvantages
- Not Ideal for Controversial Issues
- Infrlexible design
- Possible Inappropriateness of Questions
