URGENTLY HELP PLEASE, I need to answer this wireless and mobile network question within the 3 hours.
From an architectural point of view, what network components should be added to a GSM system and which new connections should be made between the various network components so that it has a GPRS support?
GPRS architecture works like GSM network but it has some additional entities for supporting packet transmission.
GPRS
requires following additional elements;
Mobile
Station: The backward compatible mobile station is needed in GPRS in order to
access the services
BTS: It is an upgrade for the existing Base Transceiver Station
BSC: It requires to upgrade and install software upgrade and new hardware PCU .
GPRS Support Nodes: It requires the installation of the SGSN and GGSN which are new core network elements
Databases: The database must be upgraded to handle the new call models and functions that GPRS introduces.
