Public Interest Groups or Promotional Groups are a kind of social groups whose goal is to achieve a collective good. That is, such groups protect the interests of a particular part of society. The actions of such groups are aimed at helping those who are outside the group and are not a member of it (as opposed to Section Interest Groups). In politics, such groups exert pressure on the government to listen to them and make policies accordingly.
