An archer can shoot accurately when using modern bow with stabilizer. The stabilizer with a long, thin rod that extend from the front on the bow and has relatively massive cylinder at the tip. Explain briefly with aids of bow’s diagram (sketch centre of rotation) in terms of angular acceleration, torque and moment of inertia how this stabilizer helps to steady the archer aims.
Since the stabilizer is massive and at a long distance from the bow, it creates a significant moment of inertia. Therefore, to turn the bow by an angle, a higher torque is required. Therefore, the archer can aim at the target with a great precision because the torque archer's aim create is to small to turn the bow by a significant angle.
