A square plastic disk is placed on a turn table to be rotated around an axis that goes through its centre. One side of the disk measure 0.55 m. A force of 31.4 N, parallel to the plane in which the disc lie, is applied to one corner of the disk in order to rotate the disc.  What is the maximum torque that the force can exert on the disc to rotate it?

$\tau=F\cdot r\cdot\sin\alpha$

$\alpha=90°$ and $r=\sqrt{0.55^2/2}=0.3889\ (m)$
