1. Principles of electromagnetism: there are to fields, magnetic and electric, that form the electromagnetic wave as they both change with time.

2. Electromagnetic waves are different in amplitudes, frequencies, wavelength, intensities. For example, the penetrating power depends on the frequency (like X-rays). Some characteristics are better for radio communication, some are better for heat, or lighting (like waves between 700-380 nm).

4. There is a transmitter and receiver. The first component emits radio waves by applying an alternating current of high frequency, the second one receives the waves by electromagnetic induction.

5. Nowadays everything occurs via internet cables, copper wires or optic fibre.

6. Now we can easily and cheaply talk to friends and relatives thousands miles away from us.
