Neutral kaons decay so that KS (with a shorter lifetime) disappears, leaving KL (with a longer lifetime). In 1964, Cronin and Fitch discovered that KL decays into two pions (CP=+1). This decay involves CP-symmetry violation. Later it was figured out that KL and KS are weak eigenstates and what happens to them is called indirect CP violation
