Differentiate between trichromatic and opponent colour theories of colour vision.

Trichromatic theory is that our eye detects with red, green and blue receptors and process these to perceive colour.

Opponent-process theory is that we have a colour receptors and opposing colour receptors and perceive that colour by the balance between the two.

Trichromatic colour theory is how the eye perceives color and opponent colour theory is how the brain perceives it.
