Entropy of a system is a measurement of disorderness of the system. I will give two example.
- Consider Ice at zero degree Celsius. Its molecule are in some ordered state. Now supply some heat to the Ice and convert this to water. Now molecules of water are in relative disordered state, hence we call water has more entropy than Ice of same amount.
- Iron at room temperature is solid. Its molecule are in some odered state. Now we supply heat and iron melts, molecules become disordered hence entropy increased.
