The four fundamental principles (or concepts) of mechanics are:

  • space
  • time
  • mass
  • force.

Everything that classical (not quantum) mechanics deals with happens in space, lasts some exact time and thus has an an exact position in space and time. Applying equations we can calculate the coordinates of a moving body for every moment of time.

Mass defines what the motion will be under the influence of applied forces. Forces are the reasons that bring bodies into motion. The acceleration of a body depends on the force applied and the mass of that body. So, if we have information about these four parameters, we can solve most of the problems we can face in everyday life.
