In general, the horizontal range RR of a projectile is given by R(α)=v02sin2αgR(\alpha)=\frac{v_0^2\cdot\sin2\alpha}{g} .

Tthe maximum range of projectile will be when sin2α=1α=45°\sin2\alpha=1\to \alpha=45°

Rmax(α)=Rmax(45°)=v02gR_{max}(\alpha)=R_{max}(45°)=\frac{v_0^2}{g} .
