Calculate the kinetic energy required to drive a fluid of density 0.004kg/m3 through a vertical pipe of height 100m maintained at a pressure of 0.02N/m2 and 0.08N/m2 at each end respectively

We use the Bernoulli identity :

"E_{kin.} +p_0 = p_1+\\rho g h"

"E_{kin.} = \\Delta p + \\rho g h"

Thus we find the kinetic energy (in a volume unity) :

"E_{kin.} = 0.06 + 4= 4.06 \\text{ } J\/m^3"
