Deoxyribonucleic and ribonucleic acids are the nucleic acids that make the proteins. Proteins are present in almost every structure and perform almost every function in human body. Carbohydrates contain the largest number of organic molecules in living organisms. The most energy of all the organic compounds are in lipids.

Many ketones are importance for industry and biology. For example, sugars (ketoses) and the industrial solvent acetone. Esters are commonly used as fragrances.
