The minority charge carriers as follows from their name are the charge carriers less abundant in semiconductors. For instance, in p-type semiconductors with holes the main (majority) carriers are holes, and the minority charge carriers are electrons. In n-type semiconductors the majority carriers are electrons, and the minority charge carriers are holes.
Thus, the current is mostly provided by the majority carriers and the amount of electric charge carried by the minority carriers is very small.
