The average time value of the power in the AC circuit is of practical importence P=RIpeac22P=\frac{RI_{peac}^2}{2}

The same power is provided by the DC current IRMS=Ipeac2I_{RMS}=\frac{I_{peac}}{\sqrt2}

If IRMS=230VI_{RMS}=230V then Ipeac=IRMS2324VI_{peac}=I_{RMS}\sqrt2\approx324V
