A neutrino always in the final state appears in a pair with a positron, and an antineutrino in a pair with an electron. When nucleons are irradiated in a neutrino beam, only electrons are observed in the final state. If the reaction occurs under the action of antineutrinos, positrons are always present among the reaction products, and electrons are never observed.
In numerous experiments it was shown that the electron neutrino is always a left-handed polarized particle, and the electron antineutrino is a right-handed polarized particle.
