Describe how a positively charged object can be used to give another object a negative charge? What is the name of this process
We can use a positively charged object to give another object a negative charge.
Consider a situation where we have placed the positive charge near the neutral object at surface A.
Then surface A becomes negatively charged and surface B (opposite of surface A) gets positively charged.
Then touch neutral body to surface B and it absorbs some of the positive charge.
Now, if we remove the two charged particles, the metal is negatively charged since the neutral object absorbed some positive charge.
This process is known as conduction and this occurs due to movement of electron from one surface to other.
