Evaluate the cogency of Gyekye's arguments in defense of ethical universalism
Ethical universalism is a concept in which the ethical inferences of an act are applied to all regardless of the consequences. For example, rape is regarded as a wrong act universally it does not matter the person committing the act. Gyekye explained that when there is a clash in communal values then one must be right the other must be wrong.
According to Gyekye, there is no relativism in dealing with norms of communities. Therefore, there is no favor in dealing with wrong or right when an offense has been committed.
