Number of possible outcomes in tossing a coin = 2 [HEAD, TAIL]

Number of possible outcomes of rolling a die = 6 [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]

If die and a coin are tossed together then total number of possible outcomes are:

S = {(head,1), (head,2), (head,3), (head,4), (head,5), (head,6), (tail,1), (tail,2), (tail,3), (tail,4), (tail,5), (tail,6)}

Number of possible outcomes = (2*6) = 12
