In case 1:
1. can you explain why did you refer to the left z-table to get the figure 0.5?
*Figure in question is: p(x>28.8) = 0.5 - 0.2939.

2. how did you get the figure (0.2939) for the probability calculation i.e
p(x>28.8) = 0.5 - 0.2939.

From what I can see, you either used the right z-table to get the figure or you got the figure by using the left z-table by means of 0.5-0.79389.

If it is the latter, why do we need to deduct it again with 0.5 i.e
=> 0.5-0.79389
= -0.29389
*work in question: p(x>28.8) = 0.5 - 0.2939
