The marketing planning process is crucial in the success of a product or service. In EV marketing, the target audience is primarily everyone who owns, drives, or seeks to own and drive a vehicle. Therefore the marketing planning revolves around how to address the needs of this audience such that they are obliged to purchase electronic vehicles.
Consequently, conducting market research is the most important part of marketing planning. It helps to create an awareness of the target audience. EV producers also become aware of the different conditions that may promote or block the success of their products. For example, poor road infrastructure in a location is an indication that the producers may need to produce more off road electric vehicles. Another example is that if from the research it is discovered that a particular region is very active in environmental management and protection, the residents are likely to be more open to electric vehicles.
