It has recently computerized its examination process based on some off-the-shelf software. The library had already been computerized a couple of years back using a freely distributed Library Automation System. Daily cash transactions are also handled by computers in the Finance and Accounting Division, using accounting software. Data mining in its broadest sense is a process that uses statistical, mathematical, artificial
intelligence and other techniques to extract useful information from large databases. Under
this wide definition most types of data analysis can be classified as data mining. It is used to
identify patterns or trends in the data in data warehouses which can be used for improved profit.
